Fun Things and Kids Activities in Dubai with Kids (Full List for 2023)

Fun Things and Kids Activities in Dubai with Kids (Full List for 2023)

In Dubai, for the first time, with your kids thinking, "where can I take my kids in Dubai today" or "how can I entertain my kids in Dubai?"

Good news, because you are not alone. This is one of the most common questions everyone asks who goes to Dubai with kids. Your options are limitless, from the Old Town Dubai Museum to the Downtown Dubai theme park.

You might even think before planning your trip, “is Dubai a good place to visit with kids?” Well, calm your senses down because Dubai is one of the best places to visit with your kids. We have developed this guide to help you sort the matter out for good, so read on.

How Can I Entertain My Kids in Dubai?

Dubai is a truly global city with so much to offer everyone in your family. It's a great place for adults in general, but there are so many kids' activities in Dubai that you can do with your kids too.

There are so many different theme parks and incredible family-friendly resorts. There is a ski resort there that goes by the name Ski Dubai. There are exciting dancing water fountains and top-notch skyscraper views. Visiting Dubai with your kids is so much fun and action-packed.

You can spend your entire day exploring Dubai parks and resorts, Dubai Old Town, and the Marina. You will notice that it will be a varied experience and, more importantly, extremely easy with your little ones.

If you plan your trip well, Dubai can be a top-notch destination for your family staycation. Most of the modern attractions in the city are family centered. And there are so many attractions you can enjoy for free or at a pretty low cost with your kids in Dubai.

If you are thinking, "where can I take my kids for free in Dubai" we suggest you buy a Dubai Go City All-inclusive/Explorer Pass or Dubai Pass. It will help you in making some savings.

You must remember that Dubai has very mild winters, and summers sometimes get pretty uncomfortable. But that doesn’t mean you can’t visit this place with your kids. On the contrary, we suggest you visit this city with your kids between November and April.

People who like a bit of heat can still go in October or till Mid May. Visiting during the conventional school holidays and New Year, Christmas or Easter is not advisable because these are the busiest times, and the prices go up pretty high too.

Go for a Ride on a Water Bus, a Water Taxi, or a Metro

When traveling with your kids, the most obvious thing is to take as many transportation means as possible. The good thing is that a wide range of options can do just that in Dubai. You can go for the most modern transportation means like the Dubai Skyrail to the more conventional ones like the wooden boat abra.

So, when visiting the city with your kids, go to the water bus in Dubai Marina. You can also go for the conventional abra water taxi in Dubai Creek. The hop-on-hop-off bus is there to explore the city with your kids.

Dubai Metro is another fun option for your little ones. It's different from all other metros because it goes above ground, and you can enjoy the city escape with your kids. Its stations have elevators, so you can easily bring strollers with you.

Explore Dubai Marina

Dubai Marina is an absolute gem, and many people enjoy this destination the most in their Dubai trip. And why not? This place is very lively and has so many cafes and restaurants. If you visit this place during the peak seasons, you will find that a wide variety of street performances also go down.

But visiting this place with kids is more special because it has safe waterside promenades. It has up to 7 kilometers of flat walkways that are easily stroller-accessible. All kinds of wheels work pretty well there, ranging from hoverboards to bikes to scooters, you name it. This place also has playgrounds for the little ones.

You can even explore it by boat; many boat tours go around throughout the day. But going for the water bus, as we have mentioned earlier, would be a more budget-friendly option for you. Young kids travel free of cost, so you can save a few bucks on this one.

Go to the Top of the World's Tallest Building – Burj Khalifa

We all know that Burj Khalifa is the tallest building in the world, right? So, why don’t you take your kids to the top of the world? This place is a must in Dubai because it's such a unique thing to do in this city or anywhere else.

Your kids will continue to talk about this particular experience for a long time. This building is 2722 feet tall, just over a mile, and it's’ pretty darn massive. You stand under it and see what we are talking about here.

Visit this place in the evening, and the city view in the dark is quite something. If you can get those sunset tickets, this will be one of the best times for you to visit this building. Hang around just a bit until it is dark, and thank us later.

Bring the Kids to a Toy Store

There are not many cities in the world that can match the variety that Dubai has to offer when it comes to shopping. You will see that the stuff they have in these stores is nowhere to be seen in any other toy stores worldwide. It’s as if you have entered an entirely new world.

You will see Santa and his elves flying around, Star Wars characters taking a stroll, mini drones and helicopters taking flight, and kick scooters being used by kids. It's truly fascinating for any young person.

Visit an Aquarium

Dubai has two massive aquariums. One is The Lost Chambers Aquarium located in Atlantis at the Palm. The other one is the Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, situated within the Dubai Mall. This place also has a VR Park on the ground floor, which is as exquisite as it sounds.

The Lost Chambers Aquarium is often included in the visit to the Aquaventure Water Park. This water park is also located in the same place. The Dubai Aquarium and Underwater Zoo are located in a busy shopping mall close to the Burj Khalifa.

You can even see a portion of this aquarium in the mall without visiting it. And that portion is quite impressive as well. But if you are planning to go to the aquarium, book your rockets in advance and visit as early as you can in the day because it gets pretty busy in the afternoons and later on.

Visit a Water Park

The city has three massive water parks. One is the Wild Wadi Waterpark, and the second is Aquaventure Atlantis. The third one is Legoland Waterpark within the theme park. You can visit the Yas Waterworld in Abu Dhabi, just a brief ride away from this city.

Regardless of your trip length, you must visit one of these water parks in Dubai. Your kids will love it, especially if you have bigger kids. Keep in mind that kids under 1.2 meters are not allowed for the big rides.

So, you can only enjoy the Lazy River or some other kids' slides. Be sure to book your tickets in advance, as it will allow you to save a few bucks. Otherwise, you will get your wallet dented if you buy your tickets at the entrance.

See the Dubai Fountain

The Dubai Fountain is another exciting experience your kids will enjoy. You will enjoy the music and the light show of these fountains. The fountains are located right at the bottom of the tallest building in the world. Yeah, you guessed it, the Burj Khalifa.

A couple of shows go down in the afternoon and after every half hour from 6 PM onward in the evening. But we suggest you go in the evening because these fountains are most impressive in the dark. You can see this spectacular spectacle in the evening if you are right at the top of the building.

Taste Local Food & Drinks

Dubai is truly global, and you can see that from a wide variety of cuisines available here to try. The city has an international food scene, and you will find food from across the globe. And that subtle touch of the Middle East is always there to offer a good mix.

Don’t just dine in at your hotel only. Go for your dinner and find out what they have to offer. That boring hotel buffet doesn’t even come close to the wide variety available in restaurants throughout Dubai.

There are so many kid-friendly options that these restaurants have to offer. And this variety might also be unavailable for you to explore at your hotel. The Dubai Festival City is a good place to explore tons and tons of options as well, all in one place.
